ACERCA DE

I play/do the following at a moderate level:

1. Oud (Middle Eastern string instrument)
2. Percussion (various)
3. Electronic production

At the moment we’re two people — oud and guitar — and we’ve been jamming together regularly. A couple of really cool ideas have come out of it, and we think it’s time to expand.

Right now, we’re especially looking for a drummer. ?

The project is developing in two parallel directions. On one side, we simply love getting together with acoustic instruments, jamming, finding grooves and developing musical ideas spontaneously. On the other, we’re also producing music and experimenting with combining acoustic playing with electronic sounds, effects, loops and production.

So depending on the session or the track, it could be completely acoustic or somewhere in between acoustic and electronic.

Stylistically we’re pretty open. There are influences from Middle Eastern music, rock, blues, electronic music and whatever else we happen to be listening to. We’re much more interested in experimenting and developing our own sound than fitting into one particular genre.

For a drummer, we’d especially love someone who enjoys jamming, listening and interacting — finding a groove together, reacting to what the other musicians are doing and helping shape the music rather than only playing predetermined parts.

You definitely don’t need to be a professional musician — we aren’t either. But you should be a bit beyond the complete-beginner stage and comfortable enough on your instrument to improvise and react to what’s happening around you.

We’re also open to meeting bassists and other instrumentalists (violin, trumpet, cello, etc.), but finding a drummer is our main focus at the moment.

Most importantly: be open-minded, enjoy experimenting, and enjoy jamming. ?
